In this video, I’m going to talk about what causes fatigue. There are several common reasons you may have chronic fatigue. Let’s talk about them.
I like to start by breaking up fatigue into two categories: Fatigue along with regular sleep, and fatigue along with abnormal sleep or insomnia. If you’re not sleeping, this is can definitely be the source of fatigue. However, this is yet another symptom of more problems.
If you aren’t able to sleep, you may be experiencing one of these things:
Chronic stress – If you are constantly stressed, this is a sign your adrenals are burnt out, or you’re regularly exposed to high-stress situations.
Physical pain – If you have pain in your back or other muscles and joints, this can prevent you from getting enough sleep.
Nutritional deficiencies – If you are low in nutrients like potassium, vitamin A, calcium, and vitamin B. This can be caused by a poor diet or a lack of bile.
Environmental – If you have a poor bed and pillow, this can cause some serious sleep issues.
If you’re getting plenty of sleep, what causes fatigue then? Chronic fatigue can happen even with a full night’s sleep. Here are a few reasons:
Thyroid problems – If you have high estrogen levels, this can cause thyroid issues and prevent quality sleep.
Liver issues – The liver helps convert hormones. If your liver isn’t working at 100%, you can experience poor quality of sleep and fatigue.
Viruses – Viruses can go in and out of remission as your stress levels increase and decrease, which can cause poor sleep and chronic fatigue.
Head injury – Certain head injuries can cause a problem where you aren’t able to get deep sleep.
Light sleep – If you are generally a light sleeper, this can cause poor sleep and an inability to relax.
